What is a mobile home RP sticker?

If your mobile home is permanently secured to the ground and you own both the home and the land, then Florida Law requires that you declare it as real property for taxation. To do this, you first go to the local Property Appraiser’s office, where the staff will complete a DR-402 form, which you then take to the Tax Collector’s office to purchase an RP (Real Property) sticker. The sticker does not have to be renewed, and it is necessary to apply for Homestead Exemption for your property taxes.
There are also two alternate ways that a mobile home can taxed when the homeowner does not own the land: annual license tax or assessed and taxed as tangible personal property.
