What is the right humidity level in a mobile home?
Friday, July 6, 2018
The important numbers to remember are sixty and fifty. Humidity over 60% allows mold growth to begin on surfaces in your home. The recommended maximum humidity level for a healthy indoor environment is 50% or under, and that’s where you really want to be. During cold winter weather the humidity level should drop even lower to keep condensation from forming on the interior surface of windows.
You can easily track the humidity in your mobile home with an analog hygrometer, like the one shown above, that costs less than $5 on Amazon. A brass case and fancy design costs more, or even more for digital hygrometer, but the $5 one works just fine. And when you see a high reading like the one above, it’s time to get busy to bring your indoor humidity down to 50%.
