What are the HUD-code requirements for a mobile home data plate?
Thursday, January 31, 2019
HUD requires that each manufactured home have a data plate permanently affixed inside the home, near the main electric panel or other accessible location, and able to be cleaned without damaging the information. It lists key data about the manufacture of the home, and we usually find the data plate on the wall of the master bedroom closet or in the cabinet under the kitchen sink.
The full text of the HUD requirements for the information that must be listed in the data plate, per 24 CFR 328, is shown below. Also for a detailed explanation of each part of the data plate, see our blog post How do I find out how old a mobile home is and who manufactured it?
