Is a four-point inspection mandatory in Florida for insurance?
Saturday, February 1, 2020
Not all homes, but most older homes will need a four point inspection by a licensed home inspector to get insurance in Florida. For example, one of the largest insurance companies in Florida, Citizens Insurance, requires a four-point inspection report for homes more than 30 years old. Here’s how it is stated at their website.
Other insurance companies have different standards. State Farm requires a four-point for just about any age house, and a few companies set their requirement past 30 years. But you should expect that a house that is 50 years or older will definitely need to pass a four-point inspection to get homeowner’s insurance.
