What is the difference between a smoke alarm and a fire alarm?
Thursday, February 17, 2022
A smoke alarm/detector sounds an alarm when smoke is detected in the area where it’s located. If it is linked to other smoke or heat alarms in the immediate area, they will sound an alarm also. But a fire alarm system will take the signal from a smoke or heat alarm and sound an alarm throughout an entire building. Fire alarms are meant to alert everyone in a large building of a fire.
