Are running traps legal by plumbing code?
Sunday, March 13, 2022
"Running trap” is a common name for what the building codes refer to as a building trap. It dates back to the time before individual traps were required for each plumbing fixture, and building traps have been prohibited by the plumbing codes for many years. A building trap could also be called a “whole house P-trap” because it is on the main drain line, usually in the crawl space under a house or buried in the ground just outside the home, and provides a single seal to protect the entire home.
